What is Faciem?
Faciem is a private, offline-first daily photo capture app for iOS. It captures both front and back cameras simultaneously in a single tap, building a personal visual archive that stays entirely on your device by default — no cloud, no accounts, no algorithms.
Is Faciem free?
Yes. Daily dual-camera capture, the full timeline archive, streak tracking, and data export are completely free with no trial or expiry. Pro unlocks timelapse video generation for a one-time purchase of $4.99 (early supporter price) or $9.99 after launch.
Does Faciem upload my photos to the cloud?
Not without your consent. By default, Faciem is fully offline — your photos never leave your device. Any future optional cloud backup feature will require you to explicitly opt in. We will never upload your data as a background behavior.
What data does Faciem collect?
Currently none. Faciem has no analytics, no tracking, and no account system. Your photos and metadata stay entirely on your device. If optional features involving data collection are added in the future, they will always require explicit opt-in and be clearly disclosed.
How does the Faciem timelapse feature work?
After 90 days of daily captures, Faciem Pro lets you generate a timelapse video from your archive. It compresses months of daily selfies into seconds, showing how you've changed through seasons, haircuts, and moods. The video is generated on your device and is yours to share or keep private.
How is Faciem different from BeReal?
BeReal uploads your photos to their servers and shows them to friends by default. Faciem keeps everything on your device unless you choose otherwise. No cloud, no social feed, no ads. You can import your BeReal archive into Faciem and own your history privately.
Can I import my BeReal photos into Faciem?
Yes, coming in a future update. We're building support to import your BeReal archive so you can bring your photo history into Faciem and own it privately.
What happens if I delete the app?
Your archive lives on your device. Before deleting, use the full export feature to save everything as standard JPEG photos with a JSON manifest. There's no lock-in — your data is always yours to take.
Does Faciem work on Android?
No. Faciem is an iOS-first app and is only available on iPhone. There is no Android version.
